Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Our new adventure....still in plannig....seems like forever 41Nov 18, 2008 9:40 am Becstar, yes we are building in Gwelup.......It will be an @PG home but it has been individually designed as nothing they had really suited. We were wanting that Newport sort of look as we like that one to but without the timber window frames and garage door I am worried the colours won't work aswell so I am researching the colour thing at the moment.
I will have to have a look at those 2 solver colours. Thanks for that. I think might have to be another gweluphome thread with our facade and some help from the photoshop wizz's on here. I think our drafty used to work for Webby's thats why the facade turned out the way it did. Hillarys is a good place to look. I think another drive through once we are sure we are going ahead will be a good idea. Have you got an old house block that has been knocked down? Re: Our new adventure....still in plannig....seems like forever 42Nov 18, 2008 9:48 am We ARE neighbours!
Have you seen the new WBN Meridian at Burns Beach - i think it is a beautiful house (no limestone though) and another good area to have a look for render/facade combinations? Yes - we lived in the little house on the block for 4 1/2 years procrastinating between renovating and demolishing and starting again and actually had 3 different sets of plans drawn up and even signed with residential a**itudes before pulling the pin (we hadnt paid any money so got out of that relatively painlessly). In the meantime 2 babies and now #3 is on the way! First floor bricks finish today, and then the roof carpenter there next week and all going to plan, scaffolds dropped by xmas! but now, I am totally hijacking your thread! Re: Our new adventure....still in plannig....seems like forever 43Nov 18, 2008 10:02 am Thats ok I am a master at highjacking threads, I have been up to Burns Beach, some nice ideas up there especially the alfrescos in some of the displays.....YOu have done an awful lot in your time between deciding to build, we won't plan for number 2 until we are in the new place I am in a rental with only 3 bedrooms and a lounge and there is no room for anything else.....we went from a 4x2 and its a tight squeeze fitting everything into a 3x1. Re: Our new adventure....still in plannig....seems like forever 44Nov 18, 2008 4:35 pm Great plan, compact and all usable space. Really looks like a great "homey" sort of house. Re: Our new adventure....still in plannig....seems like forever 46Jan 06, 2009 11:18 am Hi guys its been a while but I thought I would give an update on our plans.
We have finally signed and everything is on its way to being started. Looks like pad down in about March. We have had to make a few hard decisions on the weighing up of different options but we have finally decided on our wants and needs and we think we have come up with our final thoughts and signed off on them. I have already picked tiles and cabinets and our facade colours are decided. Our internal walls are picked and our blinds and floors. It definately makes it easier to decide on these things once you have done it all before. The only hard decisions from now will be all the hard fixtures.....taps, basins, toilets all that stuff. We are in the process of doing up our colourboard at the moment so once its finished I will post a photo. Hopefully that will be in the next week.......I have popped in from time to time over this busy period and evryone seems to be well on their way to some very exciting new homes, hopefully that will us too in the near future. Re: Our new adventure....still in plannig....seems like forever 47Jan 06, 2009 11:49 am HI PK , Glad to see you back posting again. Did you go with the specially designed house in the end or have you changed it all again since then? When we drove past gwelup over Xmas i wondered how things were going for you.
Looking forward to following your building story. Wow slab in march seems quick. Re: Our new adventure....still in plannig....seems like forever 48Jan 06, 2009 4:14 pm Hi Kkez, Yes the special design was what we ended up doing and I can tell you March couldn't come soon enough. We have finalised so much I just want to get started and see it take shape. I have been flat out over xmas and the new year so I haven't been posting much. I have jumped on a couple of times just to see how evryone is progressing but thats about it.
I have a couple of decisions internally that I will need some help with so I will post those soon aswell. I hope your chrissie went well and you are having some nice time off on the school holidays. Solidarity, not solidity.......The Lexicon of Life Re: Our new adventure....still in plannig....seems like forever 54Feb 16, 2009 4:01 pm So I have been busier than ever, no excuse I know but I have been studying, starting a new business and pre start planning over the last 4 months and just haven't made it in here to give an update.
I have nothing to report but frustration as we are still waiting for planning approval, this is since Dec 6th. I will however update you if I here anymore, now its time to go and catch up on everyone elses build. Bye for now. Re: Our new adventure....still in plannig....seems like forever 55Feb 16, 2009 4:04 pm I have been wondering where the hell you've been!!!
This is not an update... it is unsatisfactory... please try again!!!! Surely there's some type of colours conversation to be had or something! I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: Our new adventure....still in plannig....seems like forever 56Feb 16, 2009 4:10 pm Hi PK - good to hear from you! Sorry to hear it's been frustrating, hopefully that will all come through soon, so we can get on to said colour discussion!!!!! Solidarity, not solidity.......The Lexicon of Life Re: Our new adventure....still in plannig....seems like forever 57Feb 16, 2009 4:13 pm Right you are Joles, That was extremely lame as far as updates go. UMM I am so out of touch.
How about this....... I have chosen tiles, cabinets, paint, floors, and exterior colours and I have no pictures to prove it......I know I know even more lame. Well all I can say is my last assignment was submitted today and I will now need to fill my time again. I say that now and watch how I and up trying to catch up on everyones goss and then the little boy wakes uup and interups my very special forum time. What is that about? Anyway it is nice to be sort of back. Re: Our new adventure....still in plannig....seems like forever 58Feb 16, 2009 4:15 pm Better.... but you don't get a pass score until we have pics!!!!
It's good to have you back though! I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: Our new adventure....still in plannig....seems like forever 60Feb 16, 2009 4:17 pm Petal, Thanks for your thoughts, I have just re read what I wrote and you can see how out of touch I am. My spelling and grammer are disgusting.
I will endevour to get some photos together and I am hoping to stick a cactus up the sales consultants ar$E so we can get things moving a little more quickly. Once it starts I will be able to stop the self pity. No the fireplace doesn’t work. It’s been enclosed.
