Well, I have to say this forum is just great, it’s been so helpful to me. I’m a first home buyer, my partner and I where thinking of buying existing, but have since done a whole heap of research into various packages in our area, and have just made an offer (which has been accepted), in a 838m2 block in an estate only 15mins from the beach! We live on the mid-north coast, so are pretty happy with the block and its price.
The builder we will likely use (they are a smaller builder who’ve done a lot of building locally) has been really, really helpful. He came out to the estate with us to look at the blocks, and helped us negotiate a good deal with the developer (25K under asking price)…I’m sure this is all part of his job being a good salesman, but so far we have been really happy. We have tried a few of the bigger builders, and they have been really terrible at returning messages, which I figured did not really bode well for the whole building process.
The builder we are thinking of is offering the following package (I’ve also asked him heaps of questions, and site costs, including connection to services, insurences, fencing etc is included in the price)
Its 333K for the house with the land we negotiated down…do you think that’s a good deal… can you make any comments on the inclusions???
