Re: Building with Rivergum constructions 118Nov 10, 2009 1:44 pm WE thought everything would be going smoothly once we signed the contract paid deposit AND agreed to pay the outrageous site costs $20,000 can you believe it !! but however what can you do they have you in their grip now, we dont know anything about cuts and fills etc, and anyway they wont use anyone but their contractors anyway so you just have to grit your teeth and pay the $$$$ Our contract was signed on the 24/9 and 2/10 we got the Building permit, it is now 39 days and still no site cut (they state 21days in their brochure) they have told us 4 times the guy was going to do it, and each time he just doesnt turn up ! all sorts of excuses though ! Then I have to ring again but the same story as previous blogger, I leave my number but never receive any calls, so I call again, I asked to speak to Brett today as this was the last straw .. and admittedly he did speak to me and was going to get back to me in about 1 1/2 hrs .. guess what still waiting and it has been 4 1/2 hrs Re: Building with Rivergum constructions 119Nov 10, 2009 5:16 pm I can't believe how much your site costs were!! How did they explain that? Where are you building? Are you on a elevated block??? We are still awaiting our site costs & I am pretty scared now!! Who have you been dealing with? We are awaiting our final contract which we are assured will be out by the end of this week & we will get site costs then as well as a start date. I am worried they will stall now but as everyone said its not like we havent been warned!! I am just praying we are one of the lucky ones. Re: Building with Rivergum constructions 120Nov 10, 2009 7:29 pm Yes we were surprised by the site costs as our block is not what I would call elevated, a slight slope about 2mtrs across whole block , we are building North of Melbourne in a regional area. Once the build starts I presume it will go smoothly , just getting started is the frustrating part, so good luck, at the end of it if we get a good house we will be happy - just keep onto them and be warned communication is not their strong point !! go upvc window frames ensure insulation under colorbond. not just sarking, lighter color roof also not sure if you have seen this viewtopic.php?t=5823 last couple of pages… 4 110588 Even if it's not being sub-divided and you want to keep it as Torrens title, you will still need to talk to a town planner or Council themselves, to see if they will allow… 1 11039 |
