We are building the Mannum. Just received full sketches and waiting on permits and site costs. Hopefully start late Jan or Early Feb, depends on council turnaround though. Re: Building with Rivergum constructions 3Nov 14, 2008 11:21 pm don't forget to post photos and copies of your plan on here. We all love having a sticky beak!! Re: Building with Rivergum constructions 4Nov 16, 2008 9:29 pm Hey guys,
I am interested in how much the RC homes cost? I have looked at all the plans and am considering approaching them to get a quote for the; Chiltern 245 Eden 258 Sorrento 272 I would like to know what the initial quote you have received from them, and the final contract price. Of all the single storey floorplans that I have come across on the net, I believe these are the ones that best suit my needs (wants). What is included in their price? Thanks, J Built in now city 2009, now moving to the country to embark on another build. Check out our previous blog http://ourpalazzo.blogspot.com/ Re: Building with Rivergum constructions 5Nov 18, 2008 1:35 pm Hi,
You can get their base prices from: http://www.mypackage.com.au/jadehttp.dll?Www_MyPackage We are building the Mannum 207 with them. We are just waiting on site costs and council permits. Hopefully start in late Jan or early Feb. Cheers, Lachlan Re: Building with Rivergum constructions 6Dec 31, 2008 10:26 am Hi we actually went there yesterday and were very happy them. We have decided to go with them and will sign up in the new year! Have looked endlessly at plenty of other companies. Glad we have reached a decision.
Very excited as they had everything we were after. We are building the Sorrento which is the same home they have on display in Laurimar...now to find the perfect block! The base price for our home was around the $185 mark Hope this helps! Good luck Re: Building with Rivergum constructions 7Dec 31, 2008 12:02 pm We liked the Sorrento plan except for the fact that it didn't have a garage included.
And have noticed that about quite a few of the plans we liked. Will you be adding a garage? How much extra would that add to the base price? Re: Building with Rivergum constructions 8Dec 31, 2008 12:09 pm no our double garage is included in the price. we went through everything in fine detail yesterday. only things that are not included are drive way, fenceing, letterbox, clothesline and aircon Re: Building with Rivergum constructions 9Jan 03, 2009 9:31 pm new2this Hi we actually went there yesterday and were very happy them. It's good that you can visualize ur house floorplan before built. Just guess maybe u would visit it a lot to get ideas for colour selection, furniture placement and all the details. So now any idea for where to build the house? nott Spring is here! Hurray! Re: Building with Rivergum constructions 10Jan 03, 2009 9:48 pm There is a rivergum house being built across the road from my block.. just noticed it today.. it is at frame stage at the moment. Re: Building with Rivergum constructions 13Jan 18, 2009 2:46 pm Our sites costs were 6.7k for H class slab with 400mm cut and 400mm fill. Our block is 800sqm. I think H class slab is only included when if you block is under 650sqm and you have a shorter setback...
We go into Rivergum tomorrow to pick out the colors and sign the contracts. We are building the Mannum 207. Our base price increased from 169k to 179k. We changed some carpet to more tiles and put on roller door on back of garage plus change bedroom robe draws to sliding ones. There was also additional permits and acousitc upgrades needed as well in the price. This also included the 6.7k site costs. They were quite reasonable in prices for upgrades etc. Regards, Lachlan Re: Building with Rivergum constructions 14Jan 21, 2009 8:34 pm Hi All, i have been so interested in reading topics on this forum and when i came across this one I just had to register.
I built with RC back in 2004 and was very happy with them. Because it was our first home we were on a tight budget so we didn't really make many upgrades. we built the Sorrento (30 squares). We weren't surprised with any extra costs once signing the contract, as you may experience with many other builders. We have since sold that house and actually considered building with them again because they were so professional, but this time round I decided to owner build (mostly because their prices had risen so much). One suggestion I can make is if you can afford it seriously look at upgrading things, especially carpet and tiles... im not too sure on what they offer these days but the quality we got wasn't that great, it's very hard to tell from those small samples so it pays to do a little research on what you choose. Apart from that the workmanship was fantastic..... I am spewin I didn't get the numbers of the tradies at the time...... could have come in handy now! We did have a few things which needed maintenance once we moved in and in most instances someone was there the following day.... very impressed. Overall i would highly recommend RC and I don't believe you will have any issues with them at all. Re: Building with Rivergum constructions 15Jan 21, 2009 9:28 pm Thanks cazz79. Exactly what we wanted to hear after just doing the color selection and signing contracts on Monday
Thanks for you honest assesstment. Hopefully smooth sailing for us when they start in a couple of months. Good luck with your building. Re: Building with Rivergum constructions 17Jan 22, 2009 10:19 am hi cazz,
I think the road for owner build is a bit tough, but once u've done it, sure u will have more satisfaction as u accomplished such a huge project! in 2008, many builders raised their price owing to the increase in costs, petrol... seem unavoiable for RC too. You're so lucky that u built a few years b4. Glad that u're satisfied with RC work. Wish ours is the same. nott Re: Building with Rivergum constructions 18Jan 22, 2009 10:32 am Hi Nott,
I know what you mean and most builders have increased their prices as the cost of materials increases (like everything else)....... and it is very much unavoidable...... i do hope you are right and we do feel a great sense of accomplishment once the house in complete, also save some $$$$ in the process as i put my handy-man hubby to work i would love to see some pics of a recently built RC home. Good luck go upvc window frames ensure insulation under colorbond. not just sarking, lighter color roof also not sure if you have seen this viewtopic.php?t=5823 last couple of pages… 4 111029 Even if it's not being sub-divided and you want to keep it as Torrens title, you will still need to talk to a town planner or Council themselves, to see if they will allow… 1 11211 |
