Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Nov 09, 2008 12:21 pm Does anyone have experience with rain damage to a timber frame during construction. Our house is currently being built and rain has fallen for the past three days with everything now soaked including the upper flooring.
Is this likely to be a problem and where does the liability for fixing any damage rest? (if necessary). Thanks in advance. Re: Frame Rain Damage During Construction 2Nov 09, 2008 1:23 pm We had the same problem with our build - frame was exposed to lots of storms, and both our upstairs and downstairs yellowtongue flooring was left sitting in pools of water for up to a week (which showed the floor was level, if nothing else )
I was repeatedly told this wasn't a problem, and it appears to be OK so far. They will just sand back any "lips" that form between the floor panels. Still, it feels like it would be better if there wasn't any rain on all that wood, doesn't it? I guess God didn't use subbies...
