Noobie here ready for the whole build thing.....this is a great site with loads of info....thankx in advance..... We have decided on a possible block of land to purchase. However, it seems the site has had some fill in it to level it out possibly!?!?! The compaction certificate is here http://www.landdiscovery.com.au/files/C ... 20-160.pdf It seems its only up tp .8m.... but what are the downfalls of building on this...?!? the land is flat... I assume this i common.... and all normal... but what exactly does the compaction certificates mean....? More importantly, how much extra may this add onto footings... We had 200-800mm of fill, with about $3,000 additional site costs. You start hitting the really big dollars when you have more than a metre of fill ... old dam sites etc with 4-6m of fill can translate to $20,000-$40,000 of extra costs IF the builder will touch it.
