Re: Building in SA! 2670May 25, 2010 7:10 am Finally we got our handover letter .. I just have to talk to the SS and organise it all. fingers crossed early next week but that said we have to wait a month until we can get our tiler in because he is a busy man On the good side though I would rather live on cardboard boxes and mats than pay anymore than I have to towards someone elses mortgage We went over last night and gave the new a/c system a kicking .. it took 7 min to bring the house up from 18c to 25c which is too hot but gave it a good test ... we worked out 22 is just nice .. We were so suprised at how quiet it was .. we couldnt hear it and if the temp had not have changed we wouldnt have known it was going. Yesterday, I was suprised when they were putting the outside unit in. I have been worried that someone would knock it off but after seeing it yesterday I can see why my worries were unfounded. the unit is 1.4m long, its 600mm wide and 1.2m high. It weighs 180kgs .. so I guess if someone wants it they need to organise a forklift its absolutly huge Rossdale Homes "Houghton" Sovereign specification Re: Building in SA! 2671May 25, 2010 7:16 am robinred55 Ah Tpin, you give me hope again. Some luck must have come our way (not related to the house). Hubby entered a Gloria Jeans contest and we won a trip to Brisbane with accommodation, tickets to the opening night of Mama Mia. Entry to the VIP after party and all sorts of goodies. Poor DH is now sick tho so our selections set for Friday should be interesting. Also, we just got formal loan approval I guess we're eventually getting a house. If not I'm moving in with tpin. Their a/c works a treat in cold weather I hear. How exciting about your loan approval!!! Re: Building in SA! 2676May 25, 2010 4:07 pm Our 26 weeks for the FHOG is up to day. Definately can't see us getting a slab down anytime soon. I'm feeling deflated today. Just doesn't seem like this build is ever going to start. And we can't even get a letter from the builder to get an extension from Revenue SA, because they don't even know when anything is going to happen. contract signed: Nov 09 Released to Construction: 23 Jul 10 Slab poured: 9 Aug 10 Frame completed: 30 Aug 10 Windows & Gutters: 7 Sep 10 Bricks: 15 - 23 Sep 10 Roof: 24 Sep 10 Gyprock: 20 Oct 10 Lockup: 25 Oct 10 Kitchen: 27 Oct 10 Tiling: 6 - 9 Nov 10 Painting: 17 Nov 10 Carpet: 30 Nov 10 PCI: 15 Dec 10 Handover: 17 Dec 10 https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=35943 Re: Building in SA! 2677May 25, 2010 4:17 pm That is very deflating I hope you are able to work something out re fhog But on a happier note wanted to congratulate tpin on beautiful house and handover, robinreds good fortune and all the builds cruising along.
