Hello All !
Has anybody has any experience building first home with M3tricon. I am thinking between Hayman 25 and Santorini 26. It would be great to get to know some of your experiences with M3tricon.
Regards,
Sami

I had a great build, we went withy the grandview 27 plus Alfresco, had a great build, but the contract person was useless. Adrian B Re: Metricon Experience 3Nov 06, 2008 9:24 pm We are building our 1st home with them...
settlement will be next Friday... no builder is perfect... our sales consultant was the best... same with the contract administrator & colour consultant... during the build, we had some major issues, but were settled afterwards.. all i can say is that we love the house that we are building... and no regrets for choosing M to build our 1st house in OZ... fingers crossed for our settlement ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Built the Nevada 42 Next project - landscaping! building with M 5Nov 06, 2008 11:36 pm We are in the process of building with M. Our sales consultant was awesome-nothing was too much trouble. Our C.S.C. has been horrendous-telling us one thing initally then denying it later, stating different things aren't possible and finding out that they are and being very black and white about everything-you either take it or leave it. If we weren't so in love with the house we were building iwe may have looked elsewhere. We are hoping the next stage will be better once we've signed our contract. Re: Metricon Experience 6Nov 07, 2008 8:42 am Hmmm, I was a massive fan of M3tricon. I still believe their product is amongst the best on the market (from volume builders.)
We were originally building a two storey... the whole process was flawless. But we then had to change to a single storey..... and that's when everything went to sh*t. 3 contract appointments just to get the right facade, being told things were standard (in writing) then being charged for them. Being charged 6k for an integrated waffle pod slab to the alfresco, then getting the engineering back and seeing that while we're being charged the full price we were getting concrete with strip footings. Be very careful of this..... I know we are not the only ones this has happened to. Plans changing from appointment to appointment..... including cabinetry. A studio 501 consultant that changed our selections "so they'd look better" . So after 7 trips to head office "because now things are fixed", 6 months of emails and phone calls to tell them that things are still wrong, having a moron within the company telling us the hold ups are our fault , and finally recieving construction drawings that were still wrong we walked, about two weeks before site start. Perhaps our build may have been perfect, perhaps the house would have been amazing, but we just weren't prepared to keep going anymore. But, if we hadn't been Northern.... I think we'd still be there. Our sales consultant was wonderful, CSC.... the final one It honestly comes down to the luck of the draw with how competent the staff you get are. Jo I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: Metricon Experience 7Nov 07, 2008 9:13 am Yep I was also going to build with M. Got to the PC stage.
But we also walked after getting sick of them changing their minds about what to charge and not charge us. We were told that things would be 'included' by our sales consultant (she was lovely), but then when we got to CSC, we were told that things arent 'free' or 'included'. The SC will always give you the world for you to sign up, it usually goes to sh!tz once you start dealing with their head office people! Idiots are fun, that's why there is one in every village! - Dr. House - Re: Metricon Experience 8Nov 07, 2008 12:14 pm We are currently building the Lindeman 27 with M and everything is running well at the moment.
The sales consultant was very good, the people at Studio 501 provided good input and all our managers have been good. I've just had Kevin look over the house before the plaster stage and he thought that they had done a good job. I was surprised when our site manager told me that, this was the 1st time he had had a independent building inspector look over a house in his 3 years of working with M. The site manager was very receptive to what Kevin had to say and all the issues raised have been fixed. By the way my vote is for the Santorini 26; we nearly went for this one, but decided the layout of the Lindeman suited us better. My wife really loves the walk in pantry and cupboards with the Santorini. I apologise for any confusion, but your understanding is correct.
