Yes it could have been trimmed evenly top and bottom but many doors, particularly older mortice and tenon doors had a larger bottom rail than top rail. The only thing worth checking, and you'd have to stand on a ladder and actually look at the top of the door is if he has trimmed so much off that he has actually got into the core material. If not it wouldn't bother me. Just make sure the top and bottom of the door is sealed or the warranty is void.
