Single storey build over sewer vs 2 storey

What would you do? What would be the less risky path, and does the cost of building a 2 storey outclass the cost saving of building a single storey over sewer main? Thank you.

This is a way too generic question. We need to see the location/alignment of sewer line and footings systems used. In addition to house plans for comparison.

We are building over a main (100mm, 2m deep and concrete encased) - unfortunately in our case the SM was a late find post settlement (grrr)

We have a DA and just finalising the detailed engineering (piles, 8m deep etc) so no load onto the main, estimating around 60k'ish in additional costs

Check with your local authority - but there might also be other considerations (access openings, heights, removable floor, bedrooms etc), we have variations of these but on our 2 story build the ground was always going to be mainly garage so not so much impact here
