We are currently building a new build, we have our own electrician that is doing all electrical. So electrical is not part of the contract. Can we fit off After hand over for some of the lights and have the cables made safe for the lights? Will this affect hand over or compliance?

Thanks Huynhm3 This is really a contractual issue between yourself and your builder. This really comes down to what warranties you are expecting from your builder and what they are willing to give up. Unfortunately no one in this forum is going to be able to answer your question. You really need to ask your builder. If it were me ( as your builder) I would be happy to hand over early for you to finish, but you wont be getting any warranties other than structural, because who knows what your electrician will be doing to the other trades work. Also, you will need to organise your own certificates for OC, so you had want to be saving a lot of money from the electrician as you are giving up a lot in exchange.
