Indeed there are many pipes coming in and out of the tank. I'll try locate the valve with your instruction when I get home! I haven't had a chance to look for the valve yet as it is already dark when I got home. I will report back as soon as I get the chance! Building Clarendon Brighton - Done and moved in Sept 2009 Re: Cambridge Chronicle - We Have Moved In! 495Oct 01, 2009 7:17 am I have just checked the tank and found the bleed valve. Thanks to your excellent info! The valve and surrounding pipes are covered by insulation. The screw faces toward the wall! Anyway, I opened it and let water runs and closed it back. I didn't notice much, if any, air came out. Water is cold. Not too sure if that did the trick or not. The green light is still not flashing. The sun is already out (7am), still too early?? I notice the bleed valve leak too!!! I carefully adjusted the valve so it slow down the dripping, but it still drips at a rate of like 1 every 5 secs or so. I'll check again if it continues to leak like this later the day. The sun is already out (7am), still too early?? Do you have your electric mains booster element switched on all the time? If so, it might be keeping the water so hot that the solar pump doesn't start (because the water is already hot). You could try turning off the booster for a couple of days and see what happens. If you aren't using lots of hot water, you shouldn't need the booster during sunny weather. In my previous house (we had a Solarhart with booster connected to off-peak power), I once turned off the booster out of curiosity, and due to sunny weather, it made no difference, and I forgot about it. After about three weeks we had a series of rainy overcast days and ran out of hot water! eho I carefully adjusted the valve so it slow down the dripping, but it still drips at a rate of like 1 every 5 secs or so. Re: Cambridge Chronicle - Warranty List 497Oct 01, 2009 2:53 pm I just had a visit from the Clarendon warranty guy - he inspected the issues we had on our fault list. There were only a few cosmetic things, plus the ducted range hood with no duct. The range hood issue wasn't even on his list - it seems it's not a warranty issue at all, but a construction issue. I think our SS was a bit hasty in passing the buck to the warranty dept. The warranty guy said it would go into his report (that cooktop smoke exits behind the fridge), but it looks like we're in for some to and fro about this. Wish us luck. Re: Cambridge Chronicle - We Have Grass! 498Oct 02, 2009 6:21 pm Today we went out, hired a lawn roller, and picked up 35m² of turf. We had done some preparation last week with a load of under-turf soil, and it was surprisingly quick to cover the top part of the back yard: Wish us luck that it still looks this green in a few weeks. Do you like the Better Homes & Gardens clothesline paving? That was done by SWMBO's dad. A couple of days ago we took delivery of the new dining furniture: I had to be creative with the light fitting - we could only guess where the centre of the table might end up, so the light had no chance of being in exactly the right spot. I used a "planter hook" from Bunnings (where else?) and replaced the chain and cable on the light with a much longer one, about 1 metre. The hook is directly over the centre of the table, and the chain is looped over the hook. Built the C£arend0n Cambridge: Moved in. Happy campers.
