Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Our Milan - update after handover 61Mar 18, 2009 9:17 am i hope it gets sorted soon! GOOD LUCK! we ended up doing our PCI without our showers and mirrors being installed got sick of waiting for something so minor to be done! SO frustrating to be sooo close yet so far!! All you want to do is move in! l found the PCI/handover stage the most stressful of our building experience, so much waiting! Re: Our Milan - update after handover 62Mar 19, 2009 1:59 pm Finally, no more rescheduled.
I will have PCI this afternoon 5pm, the only man is not available at this time is my husband, but who care . The most important men to me now is Kevin and SS Will post some update tonight, hopefully not many bad news/defects , wish me luck Blog - http://clageonewhouse.blogspot.com/ Building Thread - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=10886&hilit=milan I am in, with my husband and my beautiful bunny Re: Our Milan - update after handover 63Mar 19, 2009 4:08 pm Hi Claego,
All the best for your PCI. Its high time you had it! I have interesting news at my end ... went for contract appointment on wednesday and they had lots of mistakes .... so refused to sign till they settle it. Interestingly my CSR is asking if we can settle on land sooner since she wants to site start on 27th March ... Yeah Right ! How in the world does she thinks she will do it ? Land Settled 27/04/09. Site Started 30/4/09. Slab poured 21/5/09. Frame up 27/5/09. Building thread : viewtopic.php?f=31&t=15699 Re: Our Milan - update after handover 64Mar 19, 2009 7:44 pm I am back from my PCI..
Finally get to meet Kevin and he is great.. I also give my new SS a big thumb too, he is very patient and explain things to me very details.. and he listened and agreed a lot of things from Kevin that need to be fixed... Overall nothing very major (at least briefly from Kevin) except the pantry door which is not level and the Linen architrave is not straight (but they are going to re-do the whole Linen for me anyway).. Regarding the mortar color, they have the re-colouring done and look very good.. SS said that he will try to get everything fix in 5 days, not sure if it is true or not.. however still need to wait for Kevin report (will be ready on Monday).. Joles, you are right, i am excited again.. I really want to move into the house now.. just can't wait any longer.. has to call the bank tomorrow, and my electrican to install the starserve for me too.. Now i have to think of packing more seriously.... and oh i forgot to take photos.. Yeah Right ! How in the world does she thinks she will do it ? Actually this happened to me too. I originally have the October site start, but my CSR keep pushing and want to start in September. I then realised that she put me into September start rather than October, so she was so worried that my land is not titled in time.. Re: Our Milan - STILLLLL no handover, no house 68Apr 23, 2009 10:49 pm Just want to provide some updates: The completion date on contract is 08 May.. Well, another 2 weeks to go, but I am not confident that i can have my house by this date PCI was done a month ago, nothing has been fixed until 2 weeks ago, however only the plasterer doing a partly completed job… then nothing has been done until today. But not the plasterer, was the bricke and concreter doing other fix and partly done again.. argh…. At this stage, they agreed to fix everything including Kevin’s report except one item – the infill above 2 sliding doors. I am kind of disputing with them, but now i properly give up, because even they agree to fix it now, it may take another few weeks or months (argh).. Basically they need to pull down the bricks above the door and re-patch it, argh… i just want my house now and I am losing patient to wait any longer I raised my concern to my CSR on Monday, i said i will escalate this further if not improving. SS said that everything has been booked and scheduled and should have half of the list fixed/done by this week. Well, i know that, i was there when he made some of the calls, however the traders just didn't show up, clearly he cannot manager or control the traders. Let see if more to be done tomorrow, then i will raise my voice on Monday The house opposite mine has moved in already.. yes, they have moved in, and they actually started building about 2 months later than mine, and THEY HAVE MOVED IN, you can see my frustration… arghhhhhhhh I don’t want their penalty payment and i just want MY HOUSE…. That is pretty slack of them! You must be really frustrated!! especially when they cant give you a straight answer! Have they given you any indication of when they will be completed? Don't know if your aware but inbtn them finishing and your final PCI you need to get your Certificate of Occupancy, and that can be a few days between when its done and when you get it, so there are more things to wait on! Re: Our Milan-never thought it is so difficult to schedule a PCI 70Apr 24, 2009 2:05 pm Hi Woodsey Actually I am not sure about the Certificate of Occupancy I thought they will organise it for me and ready at the final PCI, am i not correct? so do i need to apply by myself? Once they fix everything the bank also need to do final inspection, otherwise they wont release the fund, so that is another 5 days wait. They now said that they will try to fix everything by next Friday, but i am not convinced Blog - http://clageonewhouse.blogspot.com/ Building Thread - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=10886&hilit=milan I am in, with my husband and my beautiful bunny Re: Our Milan-never thought it is so difficult to schedule a PCI 71Apr 24, 2009 2:09 pm claego Hi Woodsey Actually I am not sure about the Certificate of Occupancy I thought they will organise it for me and ready at the final PCI, am i not correct? so do i need to apply by myself? The painter and the brickie need to come back next week anyway, so why not to do a few more (just minor things anyway).. I am so excited , just sent an email to my boss that i need annual leave for moving house.. hope he will approve. Hey Woodsey, my SS actually asked me to put anything that (i think) need to be fixed during maintenance period, so i told him about the hairline crack (in the 3 months maintenance thread) that they may not fix it, he said he will confirm with his manager but he believe that they would fix it... Let see what he says next week Blog - http://clageonewhouse.blogspot.com/ Building Thread - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=10886&hilit=milan I am in, with my husband and my beautiful bunny Re: Our Milan - I have a handover date 76May 01, 2009 8:19 pm YaY!! how awesome! I have been reading posts that simonds has changed their policy and is not allowing independent inspectors for inspection before the final handover ? even i am building the milan 2200. could please PM me who was your SS ? many thanks Re: Our Milan - I have a handover date 79May 05, 2009 9:49 am Thanks all I am so happy. The bank just called and said that their inspection went ok, although the ‘fixing’ work still ongoing, but they are happy to approve the final payment . I can go to the brand and pick it up in 30mins… wonderful… My annual leave has just been approved as well, removalist also booked.. oh dear a lot of packing to do this weekend… Now, just see if they can fix everything by tomorrow, meeting is at 4.30pm.. I am so excited.. Congratulations! I understand that you want to get your house ASAP... but that's what we did, and now, during the 3 month maintenance, we need to take some day off just to oversee the tradies. Such a hassle. Anyway, looking forward to see the handover photos!!!
