External steps

Hi All,

Can someone point me to whom I can obtain a quote for external steps?

I need 4 @ 1.57M & 5 @ 2.36M wide steps to include :
strip footing,
face bricksworks support walls under,
Masonry steps with tiled finish overs,
Vertical aluminium handrails.

My builder is quoting me about $10k for this, to me that's crazy monie, but first time building so not sure if this is reasonable or not?

Why don't you just hire a concretor to form and pour the stairs. There are tons of these guys on H!pages, and then hire a balustrade guy to do the metal work?

Thanks Simeon, if you know a good concreter or two, plz share they numbers with me.

My only hesitation is not getting the OC at handover, not sure how much work is that for me if done afterwards?

I know a bunch of concretors, none that are reliable enough to recommend though....that's a work in progress.

We have a couple of guys who do our driveways and we get them to pour stairs at the same time, as its cheaper and more efficient.

I have awesome balustrade guys that I can recommend ...shout out to Allan from ATA - Balustrades, pool fencing, front fencing etc. Anything glass or aluminium powder coated. Rates are fantastic and he's always looking for work. I have had the odd fight when he turns up a few days late but his work is impeccable. 0477 999 888
