Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jun 01, 2024 2:02 pm Good afternoon, We are currently doing a KDR in Ryde Council area. We are using a project builder, and there has been a few delays which is very frustrating. We will be having a new driveway installed after handover, and this require a new gutter access. We have a good concreter for this, and plans are approved by Ryde Council. We will require the water connection from the street to the property moved, to ensure that the water pipes will be located away from the driveway. The current location of the water pipes and the water meter are located in the middle of the driveway, so they will need to be moved. Could anyone please advise if this is something I should be speaking to Sydney Water directly about or would I be speaking to a licensed plumber instead? Also are project builders open to allowing this to take place - noting we have been advised we are very close to completion. Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks Re: Water connection for New Build 2Jun 01, 2024 8:10 pm ![]() Good afternoon, We are currently doing a KDR in Ryde Council area. Re: Water connection for New Build 3Jun 01, 2024 8:51 pm I had to do this 2 weeks ago. I'm in Melbourne. The water company was Ok if moved upto 600 mm sideways. Any more than that and they wanted $$. The water meter connects to the line under the street. The connection coming in to the property has to come in perpendicular from the street water line or within 600 mm from the perpendicular. The local Council will have rules in regards living in a caravan on a vacant block. This… 8 23024 Yup, think you're right. Found . Won't be needing those wires anymore, though it's not very pretty. Will probably just duct it a bit more. 2 6118 |
