Browse Forums Building A New House 1 May 07, 2024 11:36 am I am building a new residential house. The structural engineer suggests drilling 60 bored piers which are no less than 600mm deep and at least 300mm in stiff clay. If encounter rock, then all piers should be on rock. I hired a concreting tradie to do all the footing job including site levelling, piers, waffle pod, etc. The piers is a vibration item here. I doubt if there are some trap here. For example, will they over drill the piers and make one of them touch the rock then tell me that all the piers should be drilled to the rock? If this exists, how can I prevent it? Thanks. Recently I moved to a 30 year old house and found within few months there are small brown nests in the brick mortar and few small round holes in few places of brick… 0 24441 DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair That’s very helpful information.
