Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Nov 02, 2008 9:14 pm Hi, we're looking at building the Brookvale 45. What is included in the standard kitchen? In terms of cupboards and drawers? I remember the SC said something about either being able to choose pot drawers or overhead cupboards. The current promotion has overhead cupboards included, so does that mean that I get pot drawers???
And any recommendations to choosing the Blanco freestanding cooker as opposed to the separate cooktop and oven? And what is builder's standard reconstituted stone benchtop?? Thanks in advance!!! Re: Brookvale 45 Kitchen questions 2Nov 02, 2008 10:32 pm I will try to answer your question with what I think are the answers, they may not be exactly right as different builders/companies/states have different meanings.
I think you will find that you will be able to choose whether you have pot drawers in one of your meetings as a variation, same with overheads. I dont know what type of promotions you get over there (they are few and far between in the west) but I am gathering if they just said overheads, it would just be overheads and you would choose pot drawers later at a meeting (called pre-start here). 'Builders standard' would probably mean the basic model/colour and these can normally be upgraded at one of the meetings... ie: standard stone bench in basic colour range with 20mm (?) edge. Most of the items that you choose, whether it be tiles/taps/door knobs/benchtops come in different catergories and the nicer/more popular models/designs seem to be the upgraded ones. Not saying basic isn't nice, after all, its all personal preference. Adding stuff and upgrading things always makes the base price rise. I hope that is right...if not all my time here has been wasted! As for freestanding cooker...cant help you there at all. My preference is underbench oven. As it is, the plan of our house had changed and we are now getting a wall oven *blah* Re: Brookvale 45 Kitchen questions 3Nov 03, 2008 8:14 am Hey there overwhelmed!
Welcome to the forum In the standard PD kitchen, its just cupboards and drawers...we had to upgrade our pot drawers, and i'm assuming if ur CSR said that u can choose pot drawers and overheads, they probably meant "u can choose it..at an extra cost!" hehehe...with ur promo, check carefully the terms of getting the overheads...our promo (awhile back now) said overheads cupboards with the slide out rangehood...we opted for the canopy rangehood, and PD wouldnt give us the overheads, cos it was "included" with the slide out..grr....we were too naive at the time, and just paid extra for the extra overheads...so just make sure u read the terms properly We got the freestander as part of the promo, so i cant really help with that question. And finally, builder's standard reconstituted stone benchtop, is just a fancy word of Caesarstone. The brand that PD use are Quantum Quartz and i think that is the standard all around with the other builders...as a standard u will get 20mm and u can upgrade to 40mm and 100mm Anyway, sorry for hte long post, but i hope i answered some of ur questions p.s. where are u building? Re: Brookvale 45 Kitchen questions 4Nov 03, 2008 9:19 am thanks for the replies!!!
I think I better call the SC and ask for some clarification about the kitchen cupboards n drawers. hehehe...now that we have paid the deposit ...it's all starting to become soooooo real. Thanks for the info about the benchtops.....I wish they just said caesar stone...that would have made it easier for me to google!!! I'd love to hear more from other people building the brookvale to see what they chose in their kitchen!! Newbies, we're building in Taylor's Hill.
