If you can do the labour yourself it's well worth the extra little bit of tiles to go all the way up! Just be sure that the cornice is installed after tiling and also that the walls are screwed or nailed of in accordance with AS3958.1 Particular attention should be paid to the following: (a)The minimum recommended single layer plasterboard thickness to be 10 mm. (b) Stud or furring centres to not exceed 600 mm. (c) Gypsum plasterboard sheets used as a substrate for tiling to be fixed to the framing with nails or screws.
