Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jan 01, 2024 7:29 pm Hi, Building a new place and I have limited space from garage to fence. 3130mm width, then opens up over 5000mm once I pass tmy garage. I need a fence that goes from garage brick to fence. Cars can get through ok but the trailer is a struggle at 2500 width. What gates can I put that keeps the space as open as possible to be able to get the trailer through? Thinking colourbond fence with 50mm posts. One post on the bricks and concreted in. The other on the neighbouring fence also concreted. I think I will loose about 240mm(120 each side) once the gates open because of the posts/angel of gates. Also thinking maybe to put the fence at the back of the garage across. That way I don’t loose one post width on one side and I can park another car on the side of garage. Also any issues with attaching fence post in between bricks on the garage? I spoke quickly with a fence guy and said he attaches the posts in the mortar between bricks as the bricks are hollow and doesn’t want to break them but that doesn’t seem right. Also concerned the gates weight, 1500mm each side or abouts. Appreciate any help.
