Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Carlisle Building Experience 4Apr 23, 2024 3:12 pm JeenB Hey Josh How did you go then? We are looking to build with Carlisle but have no actual reviews from friends or family who have built with them. Was the final hand off to your satisfaction? Did they fix the issues that you raised? Thanks' Hi JeenB, Our experience has been really bad we are still waiting on them to complete the build. Our private inspector identified numerous issues at different stages, but they try to downplay every issue saying its within tolerance when its not. Even issues that they claim they fixed, they just tell you its fixed with no evidence and then when the plasterboard goes up you cannot re-inspect. Also the communication with the SS has been atrocious, they dont respond at all. I know this may not be everyones experience but join their FB page and have a look at the posts there. Re: Carlisle Building Experience 5Apr 24, 2024 12:32 am josh12 Waterproofing to the wet areas were done after the cabinets were installed. Carlisle use to include a water resistant "Performance Solution" in lieu of waterproofing in their contracts. This required annual inspections at a cost to the homeowner to maintain warranty. Have you checked your contract for same? josh12 Response from the supervisor is that the bricks are designed to get wet and its not a big concern. Some supervisor! They must pay him peanuts. The big problem is possible slab heave if you are on reactive soil. Are you? Take heaps of time stamped photos.
