Whats peoples current experience building with Carlisle, specifically in SouthEast Melbourne?
We are currently building in SE Melbourne and finding that quality of the construction is absolutely appalling. We've organised private inspection but the supervisor is not keen to fix issues highlighted in the report even though we have persisted and asked for resolution. We are getting told that as its not structural issues its not a big deal
We've had all temporary down pipes disconnected due to heavy wind. They were never reattached even after several emails, text and photos showing water pooling and dampness on the wall. Response from the supervisor is that the bricks are designed to get wet and its not a big concern.
We are concerned that the water ingress would compromise the materials and deteriorate the quality of the build.
The brick work to the house looks like its done by an amateur. The articulation joints are not uniform i.e. some wider than the rest, the motor is less in some places causing holes and excessive in some places. The response from the supervisor to this is since the facade is rendered its acceptable. Also they have started to render the front without washing the bricks, apparently only non-render areas will be washed
Waterproofing to the wet areas were done after the cabinets were installed. It appears the tradie waterproofed the cabinet kicker instead of the back wall. Our inspector raised this up as the plumbing is not behind the waterproofing and if there is a leak it can affect the back wall. According to our supervisor waterproofing after the cabinets is their process and is not a major concern
Laminate joins to the island bench is horrible, apparently the edges will not be corked which makes it an eyesore.
Plaster wall sheets are not attached to every second stud in most rooms. Apparently nothing can be done, they will check with the manufacturer if its needs to attached to every stud.
These are just a few things at the top my head right now. Am I stressing out too much or are these concerns valid?
IF you are building with Carlisle, Whats your experience been?With all the other builders closing shop their volumes of houses have increased drastically and the quality has completely gone down the drain.

We built back in 2015 and overall it was a smooth process. I think it helps that our account executive (or whatever they're called) was good and our site supervisor was also good. Overall we've had not much issue with the house except one persistent leak that took a while to repair from a bathtub. Thanks' Hi JeenB, Our experience has been really bad we are still waiting on them to complete the build. Our private inspector identified numerous issues at different stages, but they try to downplay every issue saying its within tolerance when its not. Even issues that they claim they fixed, they just tell you its fixed with no evidence and then when the plasterboard goes up you cannot re-inspect. Also the communication with the SS has been atrocious, they dont respond at all. I know this may not be everyones experience but join their FB page and have a look at the posts there.
