Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Oct 31, 2008 1:38 pm Hi everyone,
I am new here, this place is great! We've been "trying" to build a new house for some 18 months, I wish I had found this place back then! We have five kids and we decided to build as we require 6 bedrooms, something like the equivalent of hen's teeth in the (affordable) established RE market. We just wanted something with everything "us" aswell, the way we like it. We have land in Seaford Rise, south of Adelaide, which we have had since April 2007. We're building with Statesman, a division of Hickinbotham, and have encountered some rather lengthy delays. We are only now just beginning the exciting part, the building. It has taken months of engineering issues, unexplained delays, more engineering issues and more unexplained delays but we have had our slab completed just this week. Here is the land as we purchased it: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Benching begins, this was in June this year: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ All done, ready to start the trenches (although we wait another 4 months ): Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The drop between the top level, and the carport. I was so happy to get to this stage, I could've almost kissed those guys!: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ All done: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I have started up a blog too, http://buildingbythecoast.blogspot.com/ with a few extra pics and a bit more info. I plan on updating this regularly so I can keep all the rellies, friends, and anyone who cares informed. Thanks for letting me share! Tamsin.
