Why aren't your down pipes colourbond? They're supposed to be standard in most areas. Re: Coral Hamilton 278, Handover Done 83Feb 26, 2009 4:44 pm Yes the down pipes are going to be painted, they have only been put on this week, the reason they are not colourbond is because they go to my water tank, so they need to be PVC, plus I wouldn't want colour bond, after it rains, you hear every drip hitting the metal for hours after. Re: Coral Hamilton 278, Handover Done 84Mar 07, 2009 9:43 am More bad news (I think)! My site supervisor is no longer working for Coral and the Construction Manager has no gone back to being a Site Supervisor, but not in my building area! So basically, I now have a new SS and CM that are not familiar with the problems that we have had and some of the things that I have discussed with the previous CM i.e He was allowing me to lay my floor tiles before handover, I might not be able to do with the new manager. I am not happy, I was expecting handover on Monday and I am on my Annual Leave now but cannot get stuck into my house. Re: Coral Hamilton 278, Handover Done 85Mar 07, 2009 10:17 am we went through about 4 site supervisor during building with perry homes problem was they didnot even tell us.we had one that last about one whole week. finished building 40 square home on 5 acres with perry homes.working on the landscaping just finished pool deck with ://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=2217 Re: Coral Hamilton 278, Handover Done 86Mar 09, 2009 3:34 pm Oh gosh how frustrating for you. I hope it still works out ok. We're hoping our SS will allow us to lay our tiles before handover also. Good luck Re: Coral Hamilton 278, Handover Done 88Mar 13, 2009 9:39 am Not much has happened yet. I met the new Site Supervisor on Monday morning, he still hopes to have Handover for us by the end of next week. Unfortunately, I think that this was only said to make me happy, but we will see. The front gutter has been replaced, and the electrician has been out to fix a few things, but that's about it.
I have been there full time for the last 3 days, organising some things myself. I have had my gas cooktop installed, has the air conditioning installed, changed the kitchen faucet, installed 3 glass shelves in the double shower and installed the HT projector, screen and in-roof speakers. The SS has said that I can lay the tiles after the paint touch up has been done, but I don't think that will happen until mid next week at the earliest. Living in Caloundra Thread****** Lovin my house all finished!!! Now tackling the HUGE task of the Garden- viewtopic.php?f=31&t=14782 Re: Coral Hamilton 278, Handover Done 90Mar 13, 2009 3:55 pm I purchased the Faucet on Ebay, was only around $50 but the postage was over $100 as it was from China. If you buy one, you might have to change the Blue & Red dots (Hot & Cold) around so it meets our building regs.

The only major thing left is to hook up the water tank, the rest of the things are minor and can be fixed after handover, as well as a few new items. Otherwise, we hope to have handover on Friday. That seems really quick taking into account Christmas. Probably doesn't seem quick to you living through it all but I'm really amazed.
The house looks great, good luck for handover on Friday. You'll be in before you know it. Re: Coral Hamilton 278, Handover Done 95Mar 17, 2009 9:01 pm Great news. Hope it all goes smoothly for you. Re: Coral Hamilton 278, Handover Done 96Mar 17, 2009 9:43 pm Photogirl, yes, the slab did go down in November but that is because Coral screwed up the piers, it was meant to go down in late September, so to us it has been a long time (177 days, but who's counting) Quote: Building with Coral 2009 PostPosted: Tue Mar 17, 2009 6:07 pm Post subject: congrats! hope all goes well on the day Wink overall are you generally a happy customer or not really? Unfortunately, I would have to say no on this one, not really. The ****** started from the very beginning, we first went into Coral in January and were told we would be in by Xmas 08, even when we were given our start date, we were still told we would be in by Xmas. Its now mid March, we are just lucky our landlord extended our rental agreement. The finish is not all that good, I still have some issue's that need to be sorted out, particularly the skirting and architraves. They look terrible in my eyes, the timber used looks like seconds and its these type of items that finish off a house. The quality of the display home is very good, this is the only place that you can judge the quality of materials used by the company. Hopefully this will get sorted out with Coral, otherwise I am not affraid to get the BSA involved. Re: Coral Hamilton 278, Handover Done 97Mar 18, 2009 6:22 am the photos look amazing, but I am guessing they do not show up the true detail... I understand where you are coming from about the quality ---its the little details that pull a house together and give the overall feeling of a quality build.
At the end of the day we pay a lot of $$$$$$ for our houses, and I feel we have every right to say we are not happy...I think there is a bit of a culture, (generalisation coming.... ) largely manufactured by the building industry that we should be greatful that the house is built and we can move in... I am with you Raw don't compromise on things that you feel are not quality! At the end of the day we are customers and paying their wages and without us the building industry would be nothing...stand your ground respectfully and I hope things are sorted for you! Good luck!!!!!! and hope it goes smoothly Kylie handover happened 15/6/09...love living on an acre but still so much to do! Re: Coral Hamilton 278, Handover Done 98Mar 18, 2009 6:57 am Wow a handover date, how EXCITING!! 'A bottle of wine contains more philosophy than all the books in the world.' The electrician is coming tomorrow to do his bit for the water tank and the plumbers are coming on Friday. The cleaners are also coming tomorrow as well as the floor tiles arriving, so if all goes to plan, I will start tiling on Friday. Carpet has been booked to be installed Friday the 27th, ready for us to move in on the weekend. Site Cleanup has been booked for Monday 23rd, I guess that will also be the day that we have the house certified for occupancy, I don't think the Splash back will be in by then, so I will have to put some fibre board up in its place. If i get stuck into the tiles, hopefully I can get turf down next week as well, and box the driveway ready for concrete. I work with owner, he/she is my man on the ground and I instruct them when to visit the site and take photos and I have other tools in the bag. 4 15265 I am in the same situation, would you be able to give some insights in to this?
