Ive thought about the council as well but as the smell was here before we brought the land i dont think there is much we could do. Could be worth a try anyway.....My wife & i would of changed our mind as well if we knew the smell was this bad and brought land somewhere else!!! Re: The Avenue at Casey 991Apr 10, 2012 11:17 am Does anyone have someone they can recommendto me to flat out our backyard in preperation to lay grass? Re: The Avenue at Casey 992Apr 10, 2012 9:54 pm Hi we had Ryan from Mighty mini diggers 0417 048 318 do our yard leveling and we were very happy with his skill & speed at getting the job done. Yeah the smells in the Avenue/Eve estate can be pretty terrible, of which some of it I think drift in from the abattoir/slaughterhouse on Thompsons road up near the cement mixers, and everyday when I drove through, I wind up the windows and turn off the car air-con/heating but even that only keeps most of the disgusting smell out for a brief while. And like the slaughterhouse, the farms using fertiliser all around the estate have been there forever so I dont know how anyone can make a serious complaint to the council given that the buyer should have been fully aware of the obvious situation before choosing to buy land there, for which the land cost/price was most likely discounted as a result. Re: The Avenue at Casey 995Apr 13, 2012 9:26 am AdPR I wonder why we cannot have ADSL 2+ with TPG in our estate? based on their coverage plan, eve can have it, Allen’s farm can, then why can't we? Hi, I live in the Eve estate and we can only get adsl 2+ off-net from TPG. Same like The Avenue. Its just more expensive than the normal adsl 2+ Try to put your phone number and see under what zone it will be. Mine says Zone 2 which is off-net plans. Cheers Kenny Re: The Avenue at Casey 996Apr 15, 2012 9:46 pm Hi everyone, we have 2 petitions for as many people as we can to sign to present to the council: 1. To change the name of the suburb to something other than Cranbourne North. 2. The other one is for a bus service through the estate. I did not start these petitions but I agree with both of them. We want to get as much support as possible from you great people on the the forum. If you would be prepared to sign and support this petition please send me a PM and let me know where you live or you can come to me and sign them. I know what a supportive forum this has been since day one, come and help make our suburb even better Jaykkay Building The Jamieson with Romeo Homes in 2011 Handover 16/12/11 Re: The Avenue at Casey 997Apr 16, 2012 3:23 pm jaykkay Hi everyone, we have 2 petitions for as many people as we can to sign to present to the council: 1. I know what a supportive forum this has been since day one, come and help make our suburb even better Hi Jaykay, I have contacted the department of Transport earlier this month who have forwarded my enquiry to PTV (Public transport Victoria) and have mentioned that i will get a response within 7 working days. I will keep you all posted with the response. I really hope that we will get a bus service connecting our estate to Berwick, Narre Warren or Merinda park stations. Months ago I heard many things like we may get added in Narre south and/or Berwick, or they are creating a brand new suburb etc. Do we have any update on Park progress? The estate website still shows that it is due to open March/April 2012. Re: The Avenue at Casey 998Apr 16, 2012 8:52 pm Jaykkay, regarding the petition for suburb name change, is it merely asking if there can be a name change, or is it proposing a new name? Depending on this, I would probably be happy to sign the petition/lobby Geoff Ablett, (the councillor for that ward) although I'm not currently living in The Avenue estate. Could you give us some more details about the origins of the petition - where it has come from etc. thanks, caz Re: The Avenue at Casey 999Apr 17, 2012 6:16 pm jaykkay Hi everyone, we have 2 petitions for as many people as we can to sign to present to the council: 1. I know what a supportive forum this has been since day one, come and help make our suburb even better Ok, here is the details of the petitions: 1. To the mayor and councillors of casey council. This petition of certain residents in the Municipality of Casey, including Cranbourne North would like to draw attention to the mayor and councillors to request a suburb name change. Our residential area is part of the suburb Cranbourne North. However, we believe we are absolutely removed from Cranbourne itself and are actually much closer to Narre Warren, Berwick and Casey Central. Your petitioners therefore request that this request is considered. 2. To the legislative assembly of Victoria. The petition of residents in the City of Casey Municipality would like to draw attention to the House of a matter of urgency, that bus route 847 from Berwick through to Casey Central needs to be enhanced. (It then details the suggested change of route to be along Glasscocks road, then turning into Mountain View Blvd, right again into William Thwaites, back to Glasscocks Rd then back to Casey Central. It goes into a lot more detail which is too long to type here highlighting the fact that the proposed shopping centre, day care centre would then be serviced and the fact that we need transport to get to a train station). You can read it in detail if you want to sign it. Hope this explains them sufficiently. The petition has come from a resident of the estate that has high school age children who currently have to walk about 20 minutes to get to the nearest bus stop to get to local high schools. She was recently in the local paper and has already contacted Geoff Ablett about this. He is very positive about this being a reality, just needs to gather support to present it to government. The city of Casey zoning grid clearly puts the area between Thompsons road and Clyde rd in Cranbourne. What is the key driver for this and what is the justification for change? A petition without a clear argument and recommended outcome is a waste of time. 11 41740 |
