I have a battle axe block and I'm considering installing an electrical gate with an intercom system along my long driveway, which spans over 25 meters. My intention is to create a safe space for my small kids to play in the front yard while also allowing them to cycle on the driveway. Additionally, having an electric gate would be convenient if I decide to adopt a dog. I'm wondering if such an installation is feasible and permitted by the Hillshire Council.
Another aspect I'm interested in is utilizing the gate column as a post box. I'd appreciate any information on whether this is possible and any experiences shared by those who have already implemented a similar setup.
To provide some context, my builder has informed me that they don't handle these types of installations. Therefore, I'm seeking guidance on the appropriate professional to approach for this project. Can a landscaper handle this task? I'm also curious about the regulations concerning gate placement. Can I position the gate at the street level, or should I adhere to the 4-meter setback requirement?
