Facade pillar tiling costs and recommendations in sydney

Looking to tile the facade pillars rather than rendering. Builder is quoting 2500$ laying cost for upto 10msq. The 2 pillars come to be 16msq. So laying costs are 5000$ plus tile cost. Are there any recommendations and will the builder allow somebody else to work on site? Its a 2 floor house and requires scaffolding.
So considering the costs is future plans recommended or do it now when scaffolding is in place.
