Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Oct 29, 2008 8:40 am Hi All,
Love the plan of the Empire 483 from H3nl3y - and is the first choice for when we eventually make up our mind about when we build. Has anyone on the forum built it? Any general comments about this builder? Paul After 2 false starts, a year living overseas, two more world trips and 3 years of uncertainty we are now starting the build process again - hopefully for real this time! Re: Anyone for the Empire? 2Oct 29, 2008 9:02 am I love the Empire, it is a gorgeous house
We are building the H3nley Ascot 483 and had our tender last week which went well. So far we have had a pretty good experience with them and they have been a lot more flexible with their floor plan than we expected. Re: Anyone for the Empire? 4Oct 30, 2008 12:57 am I know - my wife loves it! (and so do I but shhhh ) There is an option to make the library or the living bigger (or both!), which also increases the dressing room and master bedroom!
I also love the flexibility the house provides - the two living areas centred around the kitchen (one as breakfast/morning area one not, one as informal one as formal, one for kids one for adults etc.) - plus the two at the front. We would close of the living and make it a home theatre and use the library as a 'formal' living area. We did consider the Empire cos this was one of the few ones that sort of fitted till we added the alfresco Pluses were Minor bedrooms are big and they can be made to have bigger robes without compromising on the size of the bedroom. They have an option where u can add a WIP which makes the family areas slightly smaller but still big enough that it was not an issue Add a WIL upstairs that make the WIR slightly smaller The back part open feel in empire with all that glass is absolutely gorgeous Like u intend to do Living was to be home theatre - If not the actual HT is too open The reason we did not go ahead was We could not add a decent sized alfresco because of the shape of our block In addition we required a bedroom downstairs - When adding shower to powder laundry was small , there were work arounds but required structural changes. Cheers beegee Wish you all the best. Once you signed the contract, they will find millions excuses to charge you. And have seen their sites unfinished for a long time. 4 24807 As title suggests, looking at using the interlocking Pentablock stacked stone products to replace failing timber retaining… 0 17846 I am building in claymore NSW and this is shown in the building envelope plan. … 0 10017 |
