Wallwraps are not a requirement, although recommended. They'll reduce airflow and moisture movement into your frame/cavities and improve the efficiency of your wall batts (assuming they are installed and sealed correctly). Not having a wrap will do the reverse. Yep, preferable to have it but if it's too late to make the variation (I assume you've already asked?), there isn't a lot you can do. Going forward, pay particular attention to sealing/caulking around doorframes, windows, skirting boards, architraves, cornices, power points - basically any penetration - to try and reduce any unwanted airflow into your house. Thank you for your time and reply, I was of the idea that wall wrap and insulation are basic when it comes to building. And when I upgraded the insulation and other things this wasn't an option that was listed. I wonder how some one who is building an house can know about all these things especially some thing like wall wrap which is not an expensive item compared to other things. Youre not wrong. It was only because I read it on another forum that I asked my rep during tender stage about the wrap (NSW) and was told it wasnt required/automatic on NSW builds so we were able to add it to our build, approx $2K by memory. I would have been upset if I didnt find out about it until brick work. Good luck with your build. The unit normally clips into a metal plate screwed to the wall, either plate is not flush, or unit not hooked in and could be hanging from the pipes partly, either might… 2 15821 I am in the same situation, would you be able to give some insights in to this? I am in SA 8 17111 Vapour permeable wraps are recommended for any climate and main think it is allow walls to breath (i.e. remove water vapour) while at the same time, providing protection… 4 9798 |
