We are building with Burbank and hired an independent building inspector to check every stage of the project. He came back with the report below (just the summary, report is actually 43 pages).
New Construction Inspection - Frame Stage
Overall Condition
In summary, the building, compared to others of similar age and construction is in good condition with
minor areas of suspected non-compliance (see below).
- NCC/AS Non-Compliance Suspected - X
- Substandard Workmanship - X
- Contracts and Specifications Non-Compliance Suspected – X
Description and photos of all the non-compliant items were attached to the report and sent to the builder.
We had similar report before/during the slab stage. At that time independent building inspector sent report directly to the slab stage supervisor whom he met on site. And everything was resolved immediately before the pouring the slab with photo evidence.
Now, I do not see much of a traction from the builder and my concern is that it is going to be too late to resolve some of issues outlined in the report when construction will resume.
What are builder obligations regarding this kind of reports?
Burbank building coordinator is reluctant to provide the site supervisor contact details and insist all the communication to go through them.
Can we demand providing the site supervisor contact details from the builder?
Cheers.
