Hey there
Has anyone had any experience with Australand in regards to building a new home and more specifically a house and land package?
Many thanks
Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Australand 4Oct 27, 2008 5:40 pm i only bought the land though them. The estate we're in has a number of covenants like.
Timber fences are compulsory. Must have a front fence Must have solar boost hot water Very strict on landscaping requirements There's a few others i cant remember off the top of my head. So you end up paying more, maybe 10-20k. I don't know if it will really add value long term, only time will tell. Haven't had anything to do with them as a builder. I have seen a few of their townhomes that seemed to be of good build quality. Re: Australand 5Oct 27, 2008 8:03 pm I currently live in one of Australands estates. As new 6 years ago they were very strict on covenants but the moment they sold the last block they were gone and people just did as they wished. Originally there was no front fences as the number 1 requirement, now about a 1/3 of the properties have fences.
As soon as the developer was gone so were the covenants. It's a shame as the estate was very nice in the beginning but now is certainly degraded by the action of those who are now ignoring those set covenants! Finally Designing and building the home I always wanted to! Re: Australand 7Oct 27, 2008 8:17 pm That is the thing with convenants.. they only last so long.. In my estate laurimar my land contract states, these convenants cease to apply from 2017. |
