Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Feb 08, 2023 12:15 pm Hello, We are starting a new 54sq double storey build with one of the volume builders. Our builder had suggested replacing the solar hot water tank with the the Infinity 26 - Continuous Flow Hot Water System to save some space towards the side of the house. https://www.rinnai.com.au/online/hot-water/continuous-flow-hot-water/infinity/infinity-26/ Has anyone used this hot water system? What has your experience been? Looking at their brochure it says this system can service 2.5-3 bathrooms. Our build has 4 bathrooms and while not every bathroom will be used at the same time i'm trying to work out if this system would be adequate for this type of house, given we would need hot water to the kitchen as well. Driving around I can see a few people have installed similar wall mounted instant heaters but not sure if they using this as an addon to the solar hot water tank. Appreciate any input with this system. Thanks Re: Rinnai instantaneous water heater 2Feb 08, 2023 2:57 pm id be going for an electric heat pump at this point. Though to answer your question the 26 should be fine unless your bathrooms will all be in use in the morning or ther eis a risk of them being in use at the same time. You wont be running the hot water in the kitchen like a bathroom does either. When I was building my house in 2019 we rented a brand new 350sqm Clarendon home with a single 26L system and co-ordinating showers in the morning was so frustrating, For a house of your size we normally install 2-3 depending on the client. My own home I have a 26L and a 32 L and can run 4 bathrooms and the kitchen simultaneously without losing hot water. Spend a little extra to save yourself yelling and screaming when you lose hot water mid shower Cheers Simeon Architectural Homes & Duplexes - specialising in custom designing homes to your budget Get a Free Onsite Consultation Today or send a PM for information, questions or advice. Rinnai instantaneous water heater 4Feb 09, 2023 8:36 pm No way I would be using gas now, just a personal view on avoiding fossil fuels if possible. Gas cooking is poor for indoor air quality too if relevant. I think all electric homes are the future. one 26L system like this is too small and all instantaneous systems gas or 3phase electric can cut in and out a bit. Storage HWS with solar heating or better still heat pump HWS with solar electricity is better. I have a 20yo internal resistance element hws with a small 2400w element using a fraction of the output from a 9kw solar system. That is cheap and simple but storage electric like this may not be allowed in a new build even though mine is 100% green minus a few really cloudy days. Re: Rinnai instantaneous water heater 6Oct 16, 2023 9:50 pm Instantaneous water heater are budget-friendly and space-efficient, but I'd recommend you to install heat pump powered water heater. In a long run, heat pumps become cheaper to run. 0 1355 DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair Hi everyone Question about Brevis gas heating undergound - was recently installed by previous owners (<1 year old) but live in a relatively large house - 4 bdr - and only… 0 2277 4 10829 |
