Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jan 28, 2023 4:27 pm Hello All, Hope you are having a wonderful weekend. We are in a catch 22 position. Have preliminary quotes for 36-38sq double storey house from Carlisle, Orbit,Fairhaven. All of them are in range of 500-550k inclusive of upgrades, site cost,developer/council costs. I have found more or less similar 35sq homes in Eight homes and Granvue homes at a standard price of 360-375k without upgrades, site cost,developer/council costs, so even if calculated approximately, it will complete around 430-450k to my little knowledge. With the above scenario and my cost constraints, would it be good enough to choose Eight Homes or Granvue and wanted your opinion on their build quality, workmanship, timeliness, communication, transparency, any other hidden costs like if their site costs/upgrades are going to be higher. If you can please share your experiences and how it all went thru. Alternatively, if anyone can suggest good reliable builders in this price bracket 430-450k for a round 35-38sq double storey house. Thank You. Carlisle use to sneak a water resistant "Performance Solution" into their contracts.
