Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Dec 05, 2022 8:47 pm There are a few threads on building inspectors but do people know the distinct role of each (at national level), such as private building inspector (looking for straightness, squareness and workmanship quality), superintendency, certifier (compliance to code), structural engineer (higher qualification and look for structural and streght durability properties of building, also compliance), timber inspector (looking for decay on timber), hygience inspector (looking at mould on tiber) etc, they have some overlap but there may be some gaps so rather than pay a fortune and getting all of them in and hope all defects are picked up, one can narrow down to most suited while at the same time picking up items with enforceble remedy is more important. How about an Theatrical Artistic inspector to prepare you for the PPA / tender and drama? (humour) If your detailing is rubbish, then your asking for trouble during the build. My biggest bugbear is clients with their fake artistic renderings asking how do I engineer this on site...? To which I reply " go get the idiot that modelled that here on site to fix it..." Alternatively, "That fix is going to be very expensive for you.. should have got it certified in the first instance" Either way it's back to the engineer.. get it Designer,Engineer (Civil,Const & Envir),Builder,Concrete & Masonry Contract.Struct Repairs I would send it to the certifier who is technically your representative and working on your behalf not the builder's 1 2308 I do enjoy the drama:-D In his latest two videos he has started bringing security guards to site, I am waiting for the punch on to begin lol 6 45639 Adam Baines Grad Cert Bldg Surv / Grad Dip Bldg Surv / MSAAPA Accredited Building Professional APB20210035 Builders Lic 183023 Pest Control Lic 84868 Ph 0412202336 PO… 3 46905 |
