Hello
I have some commercial windows to install in a new home.
The window sizes are quite large (~6m) and are being installed in brick veneer walls. There will be angles installed above the windows supporting bricks.
I plan to leave 15mm gap between the steel angle above the window to allow for deflection in the angle given the span, but then I will have a 15mm gap above the window.
With commercial windows is it common to have these kinds of gaps? Do you just cork the gap between the window frame and angle?
Usually with domestic type windows the angles are installed very close to the top of the window, so no sealing is required.
