Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Comparing roofing delays. 6Oct 22, 2022 11:59 pm Shmaybe Thanks Echo. Your build times look very organised, pretty impressed. Luckily we're not with BGC, some horror stories I've been hearing there. We're with Dale Alcock and currently building 2 homes side by side. So far our timeline - 28 April - Slab down (Had a few delays here due to people with covid) 03 June - Bricks arrived 08 Sept - Brick work finished (2 guys, did a good job also) 06 Oct - Timber for home 1 arrived, 13 Oct home 2 timber arrived. We now are waiting for trades which could take a few weeks. Our neighbours at the house we're in at the moment built with DA and they smashed it out! The house just flew up, so fingers crossed it flies for you now too! We have 3 others in the street (2 blocks, 2 houses knocked down & sub divided at the same time) getting built also and they started in May 2021 and don't even have roof cover, 2 have their timbers up, the other which is a two story home is just sitting idle. I really do feel for the new owners One of the houses timbers look awful, they were sitting in the dirt and weeds for so long.
