Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 25, 2022 10:33 am Hi Guys, we are struggling to find a split level builder in Melbourne or at least one that has given us confidence in knowing what they're talking about. Our land is on an upslope, based in south east Melbourne and just want some info on someone who has done a split level build and had success with a builder? Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. So far, We've been in contact with Hotondo, Metricon, GJ Gardner. Only Hotondo have been fairly good. Re: Split Level Builder Melbourne 2Jul 25, 2022 9:04 pm Semore Homes I can recommend. We looked at an extremely sloping block before we bought the one we did and we had pretty much chosen them by then and they were happy to build on the slope. They even showed us some floorplans of previous work they had done. The only thing is they are a smaller builder and I don't know if they are taking on anymore customers atm due to blowout times with Covid. Re: Split Level Builder Melbourne 3Jul 29, 2022 2:21 pm Hello We attempted to do the same (build a split level) In the end, we ended up finding a builder that would build on stumps instead, as it offered us more in terms of views at the back and living all on the one level. We had a MASSIVE issue dealing with builders that are part of a franchise arrangement, however I have heard positive things about Hotondo. All i can suggest is doing lots and lots of background checking/due diligence. In our area, the people who went Volume Builder Split Level or Small Builders building on stumps seem to be progressing. Those of us that went with Franchised builders still have empty blocks.
