Hi all,
we are nearing a build with Claendon and have had a few in-formal inspections lately. i have noticed that the builder has used what appears to be non-exterior grade screw fixings (zinc or similar) to secure the downpipes. these fixings appear to be set directly into the motar rather than into the brick.
my question is.... is this acceptable? i would have thought that the fixings would corrode/rust creating expansion/discolouration to the motar which will eventually fail or worse dislodge motar out of the joints.
i plan to identify this as a defect when i underake our official inspection but seeking a little reassurance on the topic before.
thanks in advance....
