I'm the owner of the house being built by Wilson Homes in SB. Happy to provide any interested party the details of our build and experience to date. There is not much on this forum for Tassie home builders. Hoping to spark some interest. Building in Tasmania, we've experienced different challenges to Victoria. And yes we did check out the credentials of our site supervisor.... Re: Sisters Beach - Progress to date 4Apr 03, 2022 1:34 pm Checking the site supervisors credentials? What a waste of time, what are you going to do if you don't like it? Say no? you're already locked into the contract, you arent going to get the builder to change who they appoint for your build. Even if you did, the guy might quit halfway through and you'll get someone else. And qualified people can be useless as well, relying on someone else when you're spending half a million dollars or more is insane, you need to check everything at every stage and if you don't have the skills or confidence you need to have someone independent do it for you. Re: Sisters Beach - Progress to date 5Apr 03, 2022 2:27 pm I think you can do your diligence on your site supervisor and if things are going awry, start making noise. Tricky getting truely independent house inspectors in Tassie - not impossible, you just have ask around. We've also in constant contact with the building surveyor + going onsite to see for ourselves. Although that was tricky last year with travel restrictions. 8 6156 5 6823 |
