We're going in for our Electrical Appointment tomorrow and I've been reading a lot of posts here, online, and general electrical guidance tips and tricks. As we are an IT focused home with a lot of devices, I knew we needed more than the average, so I wanted to post what I have planned for, and see if there's anything I missed or if you feel overkill?
Here's what's included with our package:
- 60x downlights
- 1x DGPO to each room
- 1x Fixed Batten holder to ceiling with globe to each room
- 2x External Light Points
- 2x Free to air points
- 1x Alarm System with Touch Nav Keypad, 1x internal siren, 1x external siren/strobe, 5x sensors
We're a IT focused family and have a lot devices, around the house and in alcoves. In the garage I'll have my workshop which will have 4-6 3D printers, CNC machine, table saw, planner, computer workstation, Raspberry Pis, and lamps, and my server rack for all my devices, in a secure, ventilated space.
Main Network Requirement: I need to be able to stream 4K video throughout the home from my NAS (32TB) and Plex Media Server, all of which will be on the rack in my garage.
Based on the above, I would love any feedback, ideas, or suggestions on how to get the best network performance through the home.
Below is what I've put together for our appointment given our needs and requirements:
