Re: After months of trying to my carpenter fixed, they're st 27Feb 07, 2022 1:29 pm Prospective customers should be aware that Metricon don't actually build the beautiful houses they sell. They are a marketer not a builder. Prefabrication and Construction is all done by low cost bottom tier contractors with Metricon clerks in blue utes called 'site supervisors' issuing work orders via ipads remotely. There is no actual site supervision or management control. Everything is based on their workflow software. Quality assurance work and outcomes are not measured and are not a priority for them. Its only an issue if customers identify defects themselves. Ask the slick sales person or manager for specific written details about their construction quality assurance process! Unfortunately based on Metricon's business model construction quality is the customer's responsibility to manage. LOL, unfortunately, it doesn't match their site experiences. delivery yesterday, working onsite, and everyone and thing is gone the next day? OT, Video cameras are becoming useful, particularly with the amount of theft and material/trade movement on site these days I digress Designer,Engineer (Civil,Const & Envir),Builder,Concrete & Masonry Contract.Struct Repairs Re: After months of trying to my carpenter fixed, they're st 30Feb 07, 2022 1:58 pm samtk Kippers01 Prospective customers should be aware that Metricon don't actually build the beautiful houses they sell. I assume you have ColorBond gutters. If so, ColorBond paint is baked on in an oven, it is a totally different finish to brush painting. 3in1 Supadiverta. Their standard says not to repaint, but to replace. Re: After months of trying to my carpenter fixed, they're st 33Feb 07, 2022 2:14 pm samtk Their standard says not to repaint, but to replace. Re: After months of trying to my carpenter fixed, they're st 34Feb 07, 2022 3:36 pm The paint on the colourbond gutters will age differently to the original baked top coat and will likely contrast visually and in a short time. If the scratches have removed signficant galvanised coating material (a tough hot dipped zinc, alumiumium, magnesium alloy) to the point that it can't 'self heal' itself, when the touch up paint fails and flakes off the exposed steel base below will quickly rust. Touch up is pathetic and unacceptible. Ask Metricon Victoria to promptly replace their defective gutter workmanship. I had a similar issue with my fridge not too long ago. It wasn't the same model, but the symptoms were pretty much the same: the compressor would start and then stop… 3 7550 This certainly doesn't look good. I would be engaging with an independent inspector to have a look at this. As for the unscheduled site visits, most builders are quite… 1 28326 |
