Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Oct 19, 2008 8:20 pm Hi,
This is my 1st ever post on this forum and I have been reading a lot of useful materials on building a new home in this site as we are in the process of building one. I would like to know whether anyone has experience with a recessed wine rack + bookshelf in the Kitchen? The plan is to have a recessed wine rack + bookshelf in the kitchen of our new home. Initial thought of the size is around 850mm wide x 340mm depth x (up to the height of the kitchen cabinet). If you have build one before, appreciate if you can provide me with your measurements. The attached below shows the kind of style we are after. We have only seen it in the Eden Brae display home at Homeworld so far. I am wondering whether the people who installs the kitchen will be able to provide it. We have a recessed wine rack above the fridge approximately 1m wide by 500 deep. Your builder's cabinet maker should be able to customise one for you. braveheart Re: Recessed Wine Rack + Bookshelf in the Kitchen 4Oct 19, 2008 9:01 pm Isn't wine supposed to be kept refrigerated? Hence the purpose built fridges :

It will only hold a few bottles that are ready for imediate drinking the rest will go in the walk in pantry out of light and hopefully at a nice constant temperature. I have some pictures of example wine racks we saw in display homes, will see if I can find and post.

sorry chilled as well You do not want any of the rack to be in direct sunlight as this will destroy the wine. You could recess the windows (just keep in… 1 3968 No. It's not original. Circa early to mid 90s would be my guess and maybe even as late as early 2000s 1 6626 2 4669 |
