Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Dec 16, 2021 4:37 pm I couldn't help but notice that the timber that my builder used as part of the frame looks a bit odd (inconsistencies, tyre marks, etc.) Photo attached below. My builder has advised that the materials are new and it is just how the timber sections come from the frame and truss suppliers. Tbh, I'm still a bit concerned. Is this normal? Are these timbers recycled? If they are, can these still be defined as 'new materials' as per warranties that are set out in the Home Building Act? Shall I ask the builder to provide certification of the timber frame? Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you:) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Building Standards; Getting It Right!
