The builder has substituted non compliant cladding for our build. The type of cladding was specified on our plans. Either the builder changed it or his subcontractor changed it. The builder subcontracted out to a Cladding business. Dilemma we are faced with Cladder claims the builder provided the cladding and he just installed it. Dont know how true this is. Is cladding considered carpentry work? Are they supposed to be registered building practitioners and so should be working according to the approved plans, rather than what the builder told him to do. In any case the builder is responsible for building your home to plan and responsible for the lot regardless who they subbed work out to. If the product is genuinely non compliant, you shoul should be dealing with your builder. Their subbie is not your concern.
