The original contract was to handover in July 21. But we are still in lockup stage and there is absolutely no work for the last 5-6 weeks. Builder mentioned that during the last face to face meeting that he is having cashflow issue and may apply for insolvency. However, even after 3-4 weeks he is still active and at the same time he is not progressing on my project. What are my options? Can I apply for claim with VMIA now? Am I allowed to cancel the contract or is it better to wait for builder to come back? I have written multiple emails, made phone calls and send sms and there is no response from the builder. The VMIA claims process is not straightforward but they should also be able to provide you with some preliminary advice if you give them a call.
