Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Nov 09, 2021 10:25 pm Hi All, We are doing a KDR in Perth. We moved out mid October but our demolition has been delayed for at least another month - I will be shocked if it happens this year at the current rate. When we moved out we expected demolition within a few weeks so had the home and contents policy finish at the end of last month. It's currently locked with no power, gas, sewerage or phone line. The water is turned off at the main (but can be turned back on eailty). It's a duplex with a common wall with the neighbour. It could sit there for a another 8 weeks. Do you think I need insurance? There is no liability insurance on it as far as I know. We are doing the demo ourselves and then the builder will take over the site. The builder is a family friend, could I ask them to start their insurance earlier? What are people's thoughts? Thanks!
