Hi kikiK You might want to check your contract to see if the builder has expressed that the floors will creak during these weather events. I suspect it doesn’t, despite not reading your contract, haha. Defects arise from breaches of standard guides and tolerances. It might arise under the contract --- breach of contract. It could be that the product is not fit for the purpose. You should consult with a building consultant or building expert who can investigate whether or not the work is defective.
