Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Oct 18, 2021 10:48 pm Hi All, Have been out to site regularly, but only really started paying attention to the brickwork recently, and noticed a bunch of things. Am I being picky? How should the brickwork be done? There's a bunch of poor workmanship going on inside (I have a post here, pre paint, old now). Stuff that wasmt resolved, frames bogged up with indents, they've smashed out parts of the plaster to fit the bench in the wall... Tiles off centre to the cabinetry, I might open another post... I'm in no rush, I've got till January before I'm under any time pressure. The main part of this post is this brickwork... There's some good quality stuff, generally speaking the workmanship is poor. I don't think so... 4Oct 19, 2021 10:50 am some of it certainly looks subpar given that metricon charges a premium. Unsure on how much leverage you will have to adress it though. Though i think you missed a fairly relevant item you could fix yourself while there, the temp downpipes need to be fed into the stormwater. It looks damp along the slab edge where its pointed whihc suggests its been out of the SW pipe for a bit. It can happen when winds blow them out if they arent secured well enough. If you go to stare at other people's new build you will be surprised how good yours are. A photo you share showing the bottom patching, I don't think that's brick work right? Thats just pathcing up your slab side, and it will be covered up by landscaping. My garage door has started playing up recently.
