Some of you may have read my previous posts about our mortar issue. Our mortar failed and will be grinded out and new mortar replaced, re-pointed. Has anyone had their new home re-pointed before? Any problems with this process? Any problems with this process?[/quote ] Hi Izzy's, I will let you know this week, according to my SS the brickies were suppose to be there yesterday to repoint the mortar....but yet again another promise just to get me off the phone. Mine should be done this week as we are harassing him for the keys for next fri.....pleeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaasssssssssssseeeeeeeeeeee... I tried to post the photos that were on my inspection report but they wouldn't attach...but the short of it is the cleaner blasted the hell out of the bricks to get the mortar off the bevelled edges & put holes and cracks in the mortar. So my SS said the whole house won't be repointed just where the cracks & holes are.....so basically the whole house. Will keep you posted on how it looks. If you have the time, get them to pull down the bricks & redo it, because it will always be in the back of your mind. 1st time bldrs, fussy and impatient!
