Demolition & removal of waffle pod slab

G'day everyone,

I am looking for some advice on demolition and removal of an existing waffle slab. Background is that it was an owner builder project and the owner got sick and sold it to us with just the slab and some retaining walls complete.
It's been sitting in its current state for about 3 or 4 years.
We looked at the original plans but they do not suit us at all, and some people we have talked with about it say that warranty and insurance will be an issue if we try to use it to build, with modifications (if possible).
Our preferred option is to demolish and remove it and start from scratch. Keen to hear anyone's experience or pros and cons with our approach.

We are on the NSW Central Coast - if there are any recommendations of a company that has experience with demo and removal of a waffle slab would appreciate it also.

Cheers and thanks for reading.
