Hi Bear,
My project is in Ryde. 20 business days is their "target" it took about 3 weeks but I couldn't get a date despite calling around, the explanation I got (compiled from different reps was)
1. This is done by sub contractors who pick jobs up from a queue/backlog
2. Subcontractor availability is affected by weather and emergency callouts and new connections (prioritised over disconnections)
3. They need to be absolutely certain the property is vacant, depending on subcontractor if they see signs of occupation they can walk away from the job and it goes back into the queue for any subbie to pick up (so yes I took a calculated risk and moved out a week before the disconnection occurred as luck would have it - but demolition didnt start until 3 weeks later due to weather delays)
A possible option is to get the job number then try calling the subcontractors directly but you would need to know who they use to service your area (haven't tried this).
